It would be safe to say that compact cars have gone from boring to holy cow in a very short amount of time, and with good reason. With cars like the 2013 Kia Forte on the market, the adage good things come in small packages is proven true. New this year on the compact car are additional acoustic insulation and an upgraded leather steering wheel. New features available on the 2013 model year include LED running lights and power-folding mirrors.
The 2013 Kia Forte is available in three body styles - a sedan, "five-door" hatchback and Forte Koup. The sedan also comes in three various trim levels, the LX, EX and SX - while the hatchback and Koup only come in the EX and SX. Standard equipment on the LX includes 15-inch wheels, A/C, folding rear seat, and four-speaker sound system with AUX jack, iPod interface and satellite radio. Upgrade to the EX and you'll get power accessories, keyless entry, cruise control, and six speaker sound system with steering wheel mounted controls. The SX adds on 17-inch alloy wheels, sport tuned suspension, auto-headlights, LED running lights, steering wheel paddle shifters for the auto transmission and metal finished interior trim pieces.
Under the hood you'll find the LX and EX are both powered by a 2.0L four-cylinder engine that churns out 156hp and 144 lb-feet of torque. The SX trim gets an more powerful 2.4L four-cylinder engine that produces 165 horsepower and 161 pound-feet of torque. Six-speed manual transmission is standard while a six-speed automatic is optional.
